Directors and Executive Officers of the Company

KRI’s management team is comprised of seasoned veterans of the energy and oilfield services industry. They bring extensive experience in energy industry leadership, corporate finance, exploration and development, engineering and management.

D. Ronald Harrell, Chairman of the Board

Ronald Harrell joined Kerogen Resources, Inc. in April of 2006 as Chairman of the Board of Directors after retiring from his position as Chairman and CEO for Ryder Scott Company. Mr. Harrell began his distinguished career at Ryder Scott as a reservoir engineer in 1968 and worked his way through various technical and managerial positions that culminated in him becoming President in 1998, and CEO in 2000. Projects he personally oversaw include reserves certifications, property evaluations for sale, purchase or financing, reservoir management, gas supply analysis in support of the pipeline construction, gas storage studies, contract compliance and litigation support. He is highly regarded both domestically and internationally, having represented clients that include oil and gas producers, pipeline companies, utilities, banks, insurance companies, universities, municipalities, governmental agencies, law firms, investors, estates and royalty owners.

Mr. Harrell is a well-published, noted authority and speaks often on various reservoir engineering subjects. Some of his areas of expertise include: oil and gas appraisal, property sales and acquisition, oil and gas reserves definitions and classifications, differences in reserves estimates, engineer's role in litigation, professional standards and ethics training, qualification of evaluation engineers and underground natural gas storage. He is highly respected world-wide as a recognized expert in petroleum reserves and resources classifications and standards.

Professional organizations Mr. Harrell is a member of include: American Petroleum Institute, Society of Petroleum engineers, Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association, Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers and Independent Producers Association of America.

 

Michael S. Reddin , President and CEO

Mr. Reddin was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Kerogen Resources, Inc. in October of 2008. Mr. Reddin has 26 years of upstream oil and gas experience in a diverse number of technical, operational, commerical, and leadership roles; with both majors and independents.

At Vastar Resources, Mr. Reddin served as onshore U.S. business unit leader, Manager of Business Development, and Manager of Corporate Planning.

In BP's Gulf of Mexico organization, he held two Vice President roles, with accountability for all producing assets and major field developments.

Mr. Reddin graduated from Texas A&M University in 1982. He currenty serves on the Industry Advisory Council for the M.E. Department at Texas A&M, and has served in the past on the Boards of the Rocky Mountain Oil and Gas Association and the nation's largest volunteer home repair organization, Rebuilding Together Houston.

 

Murray W. Grigg, Executive Vice President of Geosciences & Engineering

Mr. Grigg is a co-founder of Kerogen Resources, Inc., and has over 30 years experience in the oil and gas business as an exploration and development petroleum engineer. In the past 9 years he has specialized in the exploitation of gas produced from gas shales. From 1981 through 1995 he worked with Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd where his technology innovations led to the discovery and development of the Ring Border Field in NEBC (600 BCF) and the development of the July Lake Jean Maria formation play. When he was employed by EOG Resources, Canada, he was involved with the early CBM exploration programs in Southern Alberta and in the Manville coals near Corbett Creek Alberta.

As Chief Exploration Engineer for EOG Resources and then Tom Brown, he worked play types to include tight gas sands, coalbed methane and gas shale evaluations.
He recognized the hydrodynamic pressure distribution and gas saturation distribution properties necessary to make the Big George coal seam in the Powder River Basin a commercial prospect. Mr. Grigg recognized and defined a “Newark East” type gas shale accumulation analog in the West Delaware basin and extended the concept to the Fayetteville shale in the Arkoma basin and the Floyd shale in the Black Warrior Basin. Under his direction, his former employer acquired more than 400,000 acres for less than $8MM exposure in the West Delaware.

At Kerogen Resources, Mr. Grigg's focus has been the Williston Basin, Western Canadian Basin and the Fort Worth Basin in terms of assembling talents and forming teams to capture these resources. The skill for early recognition and the subsurface expertise to evaluate these opportunities continues to be the key focus for the company.

Mr. Grigg has a BASc of Applied Science with honors in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Master of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary.

 

Thomas E. Hardisty - Vice President Business Development & Land

Mr. Hardisty recently joined Kerogen in early 2009. He has over 24 years of industry experience, primarily in upstream E&P and in oilfield service/drilling technology. Most recently, Mr. Hardisty served as Senior VP, Corporate Development and was co-founder of Particle Drilling Technologies, Inc. a drilling technology company. He previously served as VP, Land for Shoreline, a private E&P company and was Division Landman of Gulf Coast, Rockies & Canada Division for PetroCorp Inc. He was an independent land consultant with Roger A. Soape Inc. during the early portion of his career.

 

John M. Hamauei, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Hamauei joined Kerogen Resources, Inc. in February of 2007 with over 25 yeas of oil and gas industry experience. Prior to joining Kerogen, Mr. Hamauei was Director of Planning and Budgeting for Cheniere Energy where he prepared budgets with capital and operating expenditures of $1B. He also held high ranking positions with Shank C&E Investments, Silvertech Systems, and Ocean Energy. In addition, Mr. Hamauei has 3 years of public accounting with E.F. Hutton and Merrill Lynch as a fully Registered Representative/Stockbroker.

Mr. Hamauei holds a B.S. Business Administration, Accounting/Finance through the Graduate Program from the University of New Orleans and a B.S. Business Administration Marketing from Louisiana State University.

 

Joy M. Harris, Corporate Secretary & Human Resources Manager

Joy Harris joined Kerogen Resources in July of 2005 with over 25 years of business and instructional technology experience, including 10 years in the oil and gas industry. Ms. Harris is currently responsible for the Corporate Secretary, human resources, computer technology, marketing and administrative functions at Kerogen. As a founding member of Kerogen, she has been the architect of many of the company’s administrative policies, procedures and employee compensation and benefit plans in the U.S. and Canada.

Prior to joining Kerogen, Ms. Harris trained thousands of individuals through colleges and corporate training centers to successfully use Microsoft Office, specializing in advanced Access database design and MS Project applications. Past projects have included designing databases with GUI interfaces for oil and gas field studies as well as developing training and marketing materials for various custom database and oil and gas industry software products.

Ms. Harris graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a B.S. in Marketing, and earned a Teaching Certificate through Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Ms. Harris is a member of several professional organizations including the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, the Houston Human Resource Association, and the Society for Human Resource Management.
